Strictly vegetarian, gophers eat roots bulbs and plants. Gophers are devastating to farms also because they eat the crops. It is common for gophers to completely destroy roots, shrubs and trees and the fleshy portions of plants encountered while tunneling.
Gopher living habits
They live and reproduce within their own family so a gopher problem can escalate very quickly. Gophers do not hibernate. Gophers can live almost anywhere, however they thrive in a dry climate and like to live in areas that get very little water. Gophers are active throughout the year and breed all year round, although you might not notice activity all year long.
